This course provides hands-on training for building and configuring a network using the Check Point Security Gateway software blades and Gaia. Students will configure a Security Gateway in standalone and clustered deployments while implementing certificate-based and remote access VPNs.
Students should have had CCSA training or possess equivalent knowledge. In addition, students should have a solid understanding of networking concepts, Microsoft Windows, Linux, and certificate management.
Through classroom exercises and hands-on labs, students will learn:
Security Gateway infrastructures in depth, including chain modules, packet flow, kernel tables, and how to debug firewall processes.
How to build and troubleshoot High Availability (HA) environments using ClusterXL, SecureXL, CoreXL, and VRRP.
About User Management and incorporating Check Point into enterprise directory services.
How to build, manage, and optimize both site-to-site and certificate based VPN environments.
How to use Check Point’s data analysis tools (SmartLog, SmartEvent, and SmartReporter) to generate high-level reports and drill-down to interesting events.
